Hebei to eliminate six million mt of iron and steel capacity in 2018

China's Hebei Province plans to eliminate 6.0 million mt of iron and steel production capacity, 10.62 million mt of coal capacity and 5.0 million mt of coke capacity in 2018, as announced by Hebei Environmental Protection Bureau.

Meanwhile, in 2017 Hebei Province eliminated 27.54 million mt of steelmaking production capacity, 21.32 million mt of iron-making production capacity, 10.68 million mt of coal capacity and 8.088 million mt of coke capacity, as stated by Gao Jianmin, director of Hebei Environmental Protection Bureau.
