Hebei Qian'an commences production on 1,250 mm HR production line

SteelOrbis Shanghai On February 9, Hebei Province-based Qian'an Zhayi Iron & Steel Group Corporation began trial runs on its 1,250 mm hot rolling production line, subsequently beginning actual production on February 19. With its designed capacity of two million mt per annum, this production line can produce HR sheets with 1.8-18 mm thickness and 850-1,100 mm width. The mill includes two 480 m3 blast furnaces, one 450 m3 blast furnace, one 160 mt converter, one 1,100 mm slab continuous casting machine, one 1,250 mm hot rolling wide strip production line, one 18,000 m3/h oxygen generator, and two 6,000 m3/h oxygen generators. Qian'an Steel is a large-scale steel mill which includes the integration of sintering, iron-making, steel-making, and rolling processes. The state-owned mill now employs more than 4,000 workers.
