HBIS chief elected as new worldsteel chairman

The board of directors of worldsteel (World Steel Association) has elected China-based HBIS Group’s chairman, Yu Yong as the new chairman of the association for a one year period, at the 53rd annual worldsteel (World Steel Association) meeting held in Monterrey, Mexico, on October 14-15.

Meanwhile, chairman and managing director of India-based JSW Steel Limited, Sajjan Jindal, and executive vice chairman of Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau S.A., André Johannpeter were elected to the post of vice chairman of the association during the same meeting.
