Hebei Province-based Chinese steel producer Handan Iron and Steel Co. (Hansteel), a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, has announced that, in the context of the more difficult overall market situation in the current year, it has been increasing its focus on sales of steel plate for application in boilers and pressure vessels. Accordingly, Hansteel has lately signed a direct supply contract for about 3,000 mt of Q345R steel plate for boilers and pressure vessels with Jiangsu Province-based Chinese company Changzhou Boiler Co.

Since May this year, Hansteel has supplied 70,000 mt of steel plate for boilers and pressure vessels to local Chinese companies including Shenyang-based Sanyo Heavy Industry Group, Shanxi Proxince-based Xinfa Group, Qinghuangdao, Hebei Province-based Qinghuangdao Qinye Heavy Industry Group, and others.

Meanwhile, Hansteel has also announced that it has successfully produced 195 mt of Q550D steel slabs. In tests, the quality of the slabs was found to meet national standards. The Q550D grade high-strength steel in question is used in manufacturing coal mine machinery and lifting equipment.
