Peruvian construction company Graña y Montero said it will provide services for Aceros Arequipa’s expanding Pisco mill. According to a document filing, Graña y Montero said it would provide services to set up the Pisco mill’s electromechanical equipment.
The service contract should last 286 days, and would cost $36.4 million (PEN 123.8 million), Graña y Montero said. Aceros Arequipa forecasted expansion works at its Pisco mill to be completed by end-2019 or early 2020.
Capacity for the expanded Pisco mill could increase by 30 percent, an Aceros Arequipa executive said in 2017. Currently, the Pisco mill has a 1.2 million mt/year capacity to produce finished steel and can produce rods, angles, square bars, and helical bars, among other steel products.
