In the third quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 10.2 percent quarter on quarter to 12.71 million mt, while rising by 10.74 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 7.4 percent year on year, amounting to 36.08 million mt.
According to the ISSF data, in the January-September period of this year stainless crude steel production increased by 8.8 percent in China and moved up by 4.2 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while increasing by 14.8 percent in the US and rising by 1.7 percent in Europe, all compared with the same period of 2016.
