Global stainless steel output up 1.8 percent in Q1 from Q4 level

In the first quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 1.8 percent quarter on quarter to 12.76 million mt, rising by 9.4 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).

According to the ISSF data, in the first quarter of this year stainless crude steel production increased by 6.5 percent in China, moved up by four percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, and rose by 1.7 percent in Europe while decreasing by 0.4 percent in the US, all compared with the first quarter of 2017.
