In the third quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 0.2 percent quarter on quarter to 13.19 million mt, while rising by 5.1 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 10 percent year on year, amounting to 39.1 million mt.
According to the ISSF data, in the first nine months of this year, stainless crude steel production increased by 8.5 percent in China and moved up by 4.8 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while increasing by 4 percent in the US and by 1.6 percent in Europe, all compared with the same period in 2017.
