Global Resource Corporation announced Tuesday that one of the world's leading recyclers Gershow Recycling has agreed to use HAWK 10, the world's first emission- and pollutant-free recycling machine, for auto shredder residue (ASR).
The environmentally friendly ASR conversion machine, invented by Global Resource Corp., uses high microwave frequencies to convert ASR - which is made up of textiles, foams, plastics, rubber, and light metal content extracted from cars - into oil and gas. This new process will reduce Gershow's landfill waste by approximately 65 percent and is conducted in a closed-loop system that eliminates emissions.
Frank Pringle, CEO of Global Resource Corp., told press, "Gershow's agreement to implement the HAWK 10 is an excellent example of their forward-thinking, tech-savvy approach to recycling - one its entire industry should emulate to fight global warming. We're on the cusp of an energy revolution in our country, and alternative energy technology such as ours offers a clear way to cheaper, cleaner fuel, and higher profits."
Gershow Recycling is located on Long Island, N.Y. The company collects and processes ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as paper products from scrap suppliers and turns them into high quality scrap products. A high percentage of this scrap comes from automobiles. The implementation of the new technology will allow Gershow to extract more metal from materials that were difficult to separate in the past, while significantly reducing waste and emissions linked to global warming.
