Germany’s passenger car output up 12 percent in Jan

According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), in January this year Germany's passenger car output rose by 12 percent year on year to 444,900 units.
 
During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany increased by five percent above the January average of the last five years to 210,300 vehicles. Germany's passenger car exports in January rose by four percent year on year to 324,800 units.
 
Matthias Wissmann, president of the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), said, "Last year the German manufacturers already broke through the one million mark in US sales. The automotive year 2012 is kicking off by building on this success." He added that orders from foreign customers have been increasing continuously for two and a half years.
