Germany's passenger car output down 25.1 percent in April from March

In April this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market totaled 290,697 units, down 19.2 percent month on month and decreasing by eight percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the January-April period of this year, Germany's new passenger car registrations increased by three percent year on year, totaling 1,135,400 units.
 
According to the VDA, in April 452,100 passenger cars rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month decrease of 25.1 percent and a year-on-year fall of 18 percent. German passenger car output in the January-April period of this year amounted to 1,966,600 units, decreasing by three percent compared to the same period last year.
 
In April, a total of 346,100 passenger cars were exported from Germany, down by 21.2 percent month on month and decreasing by 17 percent compared to April last year. In the first four months of the current year, German passenger car exports amounted to 1,510,700 units, decreasing one percent year on year.
