Germany’s industrial producer prices up 2.6 percent in December

In December last year, the index of producer prices for industrial products in Germany increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same month of 2017 and rose by 2.7 percent compared to November, according to the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In November, Germany's industrial producer prices had increased by 3.3 percent year on year.

In December, prices in the energy sector increased by 6.9 percent, while prices of non-durable consumer goods were up by 0.5 percent and prices of intermediate and durable consumer goods rose by 1.9 percent, all year on year. Meanwhile, in the month in question, the prices of capital goods rose by 1.4 percent, compared to December 2017.
