German wholesale metal prices down 3.5 percent in March

As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in March of the current year the wholesale selling prices of industrial products in Germany were 0.3 percent higher compared to March 2012, the lowest year-on-year price increase since December 2009 (+0.2 percent). In January and February this year, the revised year-on-year increases were 2.3 percent and 1.4 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the wholesale price index was 0.2 percent lower in March compared to February.

In March, the wholesale prices of ores, metals and semi-finished metal products in Germany were down 3.5 percent as compared to the same month of 2012 and were down 0.6 percent compared to February.
