German steel output expected to rise
Dieter Ameling head of the German steel trade association Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl has said that the country's domestic steel production is expected to increase to 47.5-48 million metric tons in 2007, up from 47.2 million metric tons in 2006. Worldwide steel production is expected to grow by six percent in both 2007 and 2008 to 1.18 billion metric tons and 1.25 billion metric tons respectively, he said.
