German rolled steel prices down 6.7 percent in July

As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in July this year the producer prices of industrial products in Germany rose by 0.9 percent compared to July 2011 and remained stable compared to June of the current year.

Destatis noted that in July this year energy was more expensive by around 1.3 percent compared with the same month of the previous year, and was up 0.4 percent month on month. Without considering energy, producer prices were up 0.6 percent on year-on-year basis and fell slightly by 0.2 percent compared to June.

In July, prices of intermediate goods decreased slightly by 0.3 percent, while rolled steel prices fell by 6.7 percent, both compared to the same month of 2011.
