Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau said late this week it plans to issue about $500 million in bonds.

The bonds will be due in 2030 and will pay an interest of 4.2 percent per year.

Gerdau said it will use the funds to support its general business needs.

Gerdau further said it will offer the bonds to US investors, according to the local Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) rules.
