Gerdau board approves resignation of CEO, two other execs

The board of Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau has approved the resignation of the company’s CEO, André Gerdau Johannpeter, as previously announced by the company.

The company said two vice presidents have also resigned: Claudio Johannpeter and Guilherme Chagas Gerdau Johannpeter. All the Gerdau family members will remain in their positions until December 31.

Gustavo Werneck da Cunha will be Gerdau’s new CEO, starting from January 1, 2018.

Other executives added to Gerdau include Marcos Eduardo Faraco Wahrhaftig, Fladimir Batista Lopes Gauto, Fernando Pessanha Santos, Cesar Obino da Rosa Peres, Mauro de Paula and André Brickmann Areno.
