Georgia's semi-finished exports to Turkey rise in 2014

In 2014, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $1.96 billion, including exports of $239.3 million, up 30.8 percent, and imports of $1.72 billion, up 22.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In 2014, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 68,264 metric tons, up 1.27 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $32.3 million, up 2.5 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had amounted to 67,407 metric tons in 2013.
 
On the other hand, in 2014, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey increased by 49.2 percent to 48,505 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $48.5 million, up 46.17 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
