Georgia’s semi-finished exports to Turkey down 18.3 percent in Jan-May

In the first five months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $610.52 million, including exports of $86.65 million, down 1.8 percent, and imports worth $523.87 million, down 24 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
 
In the first five months of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 29,505 metric tons, down 18.3 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $10.64 million, down 38.6 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the given period, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $17.12 million, rising by 44.7 percent on year-on-year basis.
