In the January-June period of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $858.05 million, including exports worth $155.25 million, up 30.2 percent, and imports worth $702.79 million, increasing 14.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first six months of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked fourth among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 28,606 metric tons, falling 26.2 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $13.96 million, down four percent year on year.
