Ukrainian galvanized steel producer Unisteel plans in 2011 to increase its export share to 20 percent of its overall shipments.

In January-March this year, Unisteel increased its export share to 11 percent of its total shipments, with its galvanized steel products being exported to Belarus, Moldova, and Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Unisteel's Q1 shipments to the Ukrainian domestic market amounted to 8,000 mt, with market's consumption of galvanized steel products in the period in question amounting to 70,000 mt. Thus, the company was able to reach a market share of 11 percent in Q1.

In Q2 2011, Unisteel plans to reach its full capacity of about 100,000 mt of galvanized steel per year, to increase its domestic and export sales to 8,000-10,000 mt per month, and to exclude imported galvanized steel from the domestic market.
