Galvak constructs pre-painting strip line

Mexican steelmaker Galvak, a subsidiary of Hylsamex, has started construction of its third pre-painting strip line to increase annual capacity by 82.3% to 300'000 tons. The line is expected to start production in March 2004. Galvak which is headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico, owns iron ore mines, steel mills, galvanizing and Galvalume lines and coil coating facilities. Company officials stated that, country's galvanized products' market will improve by the transfer of automobile production from the US and Europe to Mexico.
