French metal industry orders up 5.4% in Aug over July

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in August this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, increased 0.8 percent month on month. In July, new industrial orders were down 1.1 percent compared to June. On the other hand, in August export orders remained stable as compared to the previous month.

In August, the new orders index for the French domestic metallurgical industry increased by 5.4 percent as compared to the previous month, while the new orders index for the manufacture of metal products except machinery decreased by 2.4 percent as compared to July. Meanwhile, France's new orders index for the automobile sector rose by 0.6 percent in August this year as compared to the previous month.
