French crude steel output up 11.5 percent in January-August

In the first eight months of this year, French crude steel output increased by 11.5 percent year on year to 10.42 million mt, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA). 

Meanwhile, in August this year, French crude steel production amounted to 1.13 million mt, up 15.3 percent year on year. In the same month, crude steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAFs) fell by 6.2 percent year on year to 165,000 mt, while crude steel production using blast furnaces (BFs) totaled 970,000 mt, increasing by 20 percent year on year.
