Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 9.1 percent in Q1

In the January-March period of the current year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 1.64 billion mt, increasing by 9.1 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 2331.58 billion mt-km, rising by 6.2 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
