Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 8.6 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of the current year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 2.24 billion mt, increasing by 8.6 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 3.19218 trillion mt-km, rising by 6.0 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
