Freight volumes on China’s railways up 5.48 percent in January-August

China’s Railway Corporation (CRC) announced that in the first eight months this year freight volumes on China’s railways amounted to 2.446 billion mt, up 5.48 percent year on year.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, CRC aims to achieve a total freight volume of 3.7 billion mt for the whole of the current year, expecting to see a year-on-year rise of 3.4 percent. 66.11 percent of the annual target has been completed up to the end of August.
