Freight volumes on China’s railways up 5.1 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s railways amounted to 1.711 billion mt, increasing by 5.1 percent, while in the month of May alone the freight volume transported on China’s railway totaled 362 million mt, up 6.8 percent, both year on year, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
