Freight volumes at large ports in China up 6.4 percent in 2017

In 2017, freight volumes handled at large ports in China totaled 12.6442 billion mt, up 6.4 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT). In particular, in the given period the foreign trade freight volume handled at large ports in China totaled 4.00181 billion mt, rising by 5.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the given period containers handled at large ports in China amounted to 236.8 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), increasing by 8.3 percent year on year.
