Freight volumes at large ports in China up 2.3 percent in January-July

In the January-July period of this year, freight volumes handled at large ports in China totaled 7.66772 billion mt, up 2.3 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT). In particular, in the January-July period the foreign trade freight volume handled at large ports in China totaled 2.42761 billion mt, rising by 2.6 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the given period containers handled at large ports in China amounted to 142.2844 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), increasing by 4.8 percent year on year.
