France's steel product import value up 8.3 percent in January-August

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-August period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €6.43 billion, increasing by 8.3 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €1.26 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 8.5 percent, €305.36 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 23.4 percent, €490.19 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 15.4 percent, €291.66 million of cold drawn wire - growing by 16.6 percent, and €1.19 billion of metal structures and parts - increasing by 10.3 percent, all compared to the January-August period of 2017.
