According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first quarter this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €2.55 billion, increasing by 6.9 percent year on year.
During the month in period, France imported €490.5 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 5.8 percent, €118.25 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 20.6 percent, €188.21 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 15.9 percent, €124.46 million of cold drawn wire - growing by 24.9 percent, and €430.69 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by 7.8 percent, all compared to the January-March period of 2017.
