France's steel product import value up 25 percent in January-August

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first eight months of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €5.98 billion, increasing by 25 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €1.15 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 12.1 percent, €422.5 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 26.8 percent, €249.7 million of cold drawn wire - growing  by 7.2 percent, €237.59 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 7.3 percent, and €1.06 billion of metal structures and parts - increasing by 8.9 percent, all compared to the January-August period of 2016.
