France's steel product import value up 24.7 percent in Q1

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first quarter this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €2.35 billion, increasing by 24.7 percent year on year.
 
During the month in period, France imported €456.02 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 15.4 percent, €160.93 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 23 percent, €99.01 million of cold drawn wire - growing  by 6.4 percent, €93.53 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 6.3 percent, and €392.02 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by 7.6 percent, all compared to the January-March period of 2016.
