According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-September period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €7.15 billion, increasing by 2.6 percent year on year.
During the period in question, France exported €1.49 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 1.7 percent, €370.56 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 1.3 percent, €280.97 million of cold drawn wire - up 1.1 percent, €247.06 million of cold rolled steel bars - down two percent, and €522.14 million of metal structures and parts - up 20.3 percent, all compared to January-September 2013.
Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €6.23 billion, down 2.7 percent year on year.
During the given period, France imported €1.18 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 6.2 percent, €452.92 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 3.3 percent, €289.1 million of cold rolled steel bars - up three percent, €259.33 million of cold drawn wire - down 0.5 percent, and €1.08 billion of metal structures and parts - up 11.6 percent, all compared to the same period of the previous year.
