France's manufacturing output in October this year decreased by 0.6 percent month on month, after a 1.4 percent month-on-month fall in September, and was down 0.5 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the August-October period, France’s manufacturing output indicated an increase of 0.8 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In October, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 3.6 percent compared to September, after a month-on-month increase of 4.2 percent in September. In the August-October period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in October production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw an increase of three percent on month-on-month basis after a 6.4 percent month-on-month fall recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 2.1 percent month on month in the given month after a decrease of 1.7 percent in September from August. In the August-October period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 2.1 percent and output of the domestic construction industry rose by two percent, both quarter on quarter.
