According to the data released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in July this year the prices of imported iron ore in France increased by 11.7 percent month on month, following the strong month-on-month decrease of 8.9 percent recorded in June, while the prices are 6.6 percent lower compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in France the import price index of nickel in July declined 3.2 percent compared to the previous month. According to INSEE, prices of non-ferrous metals fell due to ongoing weak demand from China, the world's largest metals consumer.
