Former Kryvorizhstal owners resort to ECHR

The former owners of Ukraine's largest steel mill, Kryvorizhstal, plan to bring their complaint regarding the Yuschenko government's decision cancel the privatization tender before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Yuschenko had cancelled the privatization of the mill soon after being elected president of Ukraine at the end of December. The mill was sold to Viktor Pinchuk, son-in-law of former president Leonid Kuchma, and Pinchuk's business partner Rinat Akhmetov for $800 million despite foreign bids in excess of $1.5 billion.
