Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-August period this year totaled RMB 560.43 billion ($82.1 billion), up 2.3 percent year on year, with a total of 41,331 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 102.7 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the given period the direct investments made in China by Singapore, South Korea, Japan, the UK, the US and Macao China increased by 17.2 percent, 56.9 percent, 33.4 percent, 151.7 percent, 23.6 percent and 73.1 percent, respectively, year on year.
