Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in January this year totaled RMB 80.36 billion ($12.7 billion), up 0.3 percent year on year, with a total of 5,197 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 158.6 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, the direct investments made in China by Singapore, Taiwan and the US increased by 56.6 percent, 34.4 percent and 52.2 percent, respectively, year on year.
