Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-May period of the current year totaled RMB 341.08 billion ($50.16 billion), down 0.7 percent year on year, with a total of 12,159 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 11.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the January-May period of the current year FDI by Hong Kong, Taiwan and the EU-28 in China increased by 12.7 percent, 41.8 percent and 6.2 percent year on year, respectively.
