Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-August period of the current year totaled RMB 547.94 billion ($84.3 billion), down 0.2 percent year on year, with a total of 20,389 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 10.0 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the January-August period of the current year FDI by Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Netherlands, France and Denmark in China increased by 7.8 percent, 41.5 percent, 3.4 percent, 396.8 percent, 64.8 percent and 475.1 percent year on year, respectively.
