In mid-August (August 11-20) this year, the average prices in
China of 16-25 mm HRB400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 3,088.8/mt ($501.43/mt), RMB 3,197.2/mt ($519.03/mt), RMB 3,342.1/mt ($542.55/mt), RMB 3,421.5/mt ($555.44/mt), RMB 4,009.3/mt ($650.86/mt) and RMB 3,359.1/mt ($544.66/mt), down RMB 22.5/mt ($3.65/mt), RMB 25.1/mt ($4.07/mt), RMB 20.4/mt ($3.31/mt), RMB 16.3/mt ($2.65/mt), RMB 26.3/mt ($4.27/mt) and RMB 4/mt ($0.65/mt), indicating respective declines of 0.7 percent, 0.8 percent, 0.6 percent, 0.5 percent, 0.7 percent and 0.1 percent, compared to prices in early August (August 1-10), as announced by
China's National Bureau of Statistics on August 24.
