Swiss-headquartered resources company
Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian
iron ore assets, has announced that in the third quarter of the current year its overall pellet
production decreased by 1.61 percent year on year to 2.43 million mt. The company's overall pellet
production in the first nine months of 2012 amounted to 7.15 million mt, down 1.4 percent year on year.
In the third quarter,
Ferrexpo's pellet
production from its own raw materials increased by 1.6 percent year on year, amounting to 2.37 million mt, while its pellet
production from third party concentrate saw a decrease of 56.6 percent year on year to 60,000 mt. In January-September, the company's pellet
production from its own raw materials increased by 3.1 percent to 6.93 million mt, while its pellet
production from third party concentrate declined by 58 percent to 222,000 mt, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in July-September,
Ferrexpo's
iron ore production almost remained unchanged at 7.49 million mt, while its
iron ore concentrate
production saw a one percent rise year on year to 2.97 million mt. In the first nine months of the year, the
iron ore production of
Ferrexpo increased by 3.6 percent to 22.4 million mt, while its
iron ore concentrate
production amounted to 8.71 million mt, rising by 2.3 percent, both year on year.
