Ferrexpo to supply pellets to China

Ferrexpo AG, a trading company, which represents the interests of Ukrainian Poltava Iron Ore Mining, has signed a long-term supply agreement with Chinese Fujian San Steel on deliveries of pellets. The duration of the contract is three years. SteelOrbis contacted the involved companies but either of them was willing to comment on the exact figure to be supplied or on the price arrangement as per the nondisclosure agreement while referring to the quantity as several hundred thousand metric tons a year. Poltava Ore Mining is the one of the largest companies of Ukrainian mining industry and considered to be the main Ukrainian exporter of iron ore pellets. More than 85 percent of all products are exported to Austria, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro, Italy and other countries. In 2005, the company produced 4.152 million metric tons of pellets.
