The Russian steelmaker Evraz Group is currently implementing a modernization program at its iron ore subsidiary Visokogorsky Iron Ore Processing Plant (VGOK). The program is directed toward increasing VGOK's iron ore mining capacity and the quality of iron ore concentrate it produces.
In the framework of the program, the modernization of two of VGOK's iron ore mines - Goroblagotsky and Yuzhnaya - is underway. In addition, new equipment has been installed at VGOK's iron ore oxidizing factory, which will allow the iron content of iron ore concentrate to be increased to 35.5 percent. In addition, a new crusher ordered from Swedish company Sandvik will be installed at the factory in the near future.
