Evraz companies see output decline in January-May

In January-May of the current year, Evraz DMZ Petrovskogo, located in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, an integrated steel mill specializing in the manufacture and sale of pig iron, steel and rolled products, saw a 13 percent decrease year on year in its crude steel production to 370,000 mt and a 15 percent decrease in its finished steel production to 323,000 mt.

In the first five months of 2011, ore enrichment plant Evraz Sukha Balka, one of the leading Ukrainian enterprises specializing in iron ore underground mining, increased its iron ore production by 55 percent year on year to 846,000 mt.

Meanwhile, the coke production of Evraz companies, Evraz Bagliykoks, Dneprokoks and Evraz Dneprodzerzhinsky Coke and Chemical Plant (Evraz DKHZ), decreased by 14 percent in January-May this year compared to the same period of last year, falling to 761,000 mt.
