Evraz commissions Yerunakovskaya-VIII mine

Russia-based steelmaking and mining giant Evraz has announced the launch of production at the Yerunakovskaya-VIII Mine of its subsidiary Yuzhkuzbassugol Coal Co.
 
The cost of the mining project, located in the Kemerevo region, totalled $390 million. According to survey results, the deposit of quality coking fat and gas fat coal (grade Zh and GZh) at Yerunakovskaya-VIII amounts to 300 million mt, and the mine is expected to reach its planned production capacity of 2.5 million mt of coal per year by 2014.
