EU’s November 2010 construction output down 0.4 percent month on month

According to the data released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, in November 2010 seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 0.4 percent month on month in the European Union member states (EU-27). In October 2010, production in the construction sector in the EU-27 had increased by 0.6 percent month on month.

Compared with November 2009, construction output in November 2010 dropped by 1.7 percent in the EU-27.

Among the member states for which data are available for November 2010, construction output rose in eight countries compared to the previous month, fell in four and remained stable in the Netherlands.

In November 2010, building construction output in the EU-27 decreased by 0.3 percent month on month and was down 0.7 percent compared to November 2009, while civil engineering output decreased by 1.4 percent over October 2010, and was down 6.5 percent year on year.
