In August this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) remained almost stable year on year at 150,996 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In August, among the major markets, Spain and France recorded the highest percentage gains (+20.5% and +14.5% respectively), but the Italian market saw a substantial fall in demand (-22.9%), compared to August 2016.
In the January-August period of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled 1.6 million units, up 3.7 percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (+15.3%), France (+7.4%), Italy (+2.2%) and Germany (+1.8%) recorded increases, while the UK (-2.6%) market declined , all year on year.
